Viva has opened India’s first factory to make a special fire-resistant core (called A2) used in aluminium composite panels (ACPs). This sets a new standard for safety in the country.
The A2 core is made of 90% minerals and only 10% plastic (polyethylene), which makes it much safer in a fire. It meets top international safety standards, including Europe’s EN 13501-1 Class A2-s1, d0 rating, meaning it does not catch fire easily, gives off very little smoke, and does not create burning drops. It also meets American safety standards (ASTM E84 and NFPA 285).
“By starting this factory, we are not just matching global safety rules — we are leading the way to a safer future,” said Prakash Jain, Chairman and MD of Viva Metal Composite Panel.
Regular ACPs with a plastic core (PE core) can catch fire quickly, but A2 panels are safe to use in tall buildings, airports, hospitals, and offices. Viva’s new A2 panels are also strong, long-lasting, and come in many designs.
With this new plant, Viva joins a small group of companies worldwide that make non-flammable ACPs, showing its focus on innovation, safety, and advanced manufacturing.
