  • Vanya Steels to Build Green Power Plant Using Waste Heat

Vanya Steels is spending ₹1 billion to set up a new 10-megawatt power plant at its factory in Koppal, Karnataka. This plant will use heat left over from the steelmaking process to produce clean electricity. The project is expected to be ready by 31 July 2025.

The company will use a special technology called Waste Heat Recovery Boiler (WHRB), which turns waste heat into useful power. This helps the company cut down on electricity from the grid, reduce pollution, and save money.

Krishan Kumar Jallan, Chairman of A-One Steel Group (Vanya Steels’ parent company), said:
“This project will turn waste heat into clean energy. It’s good for the environment, cuts our costs, and supports India’s goal of becoming more self-reliant.”

Vanya Steels makes high-quality sponge iron and is part of A-One Steel Group—one of the biggest steel companies in South India.

This move shows how industries can grow while also caring for the planet.
