  • Star Cement to Rebuild Watch Towers in Kaziranga for Rongali Bihu

Star Cement has decided to reconstruct the Daflang and Mahimiri watch towers at Kaziranga National Park, Assam. They are undertaking this in celebration of Rongali Bihu, a major festival in the state. The project is being undertaken in collaboration with the park authorities.

The new towers will serve to protect wildlife, prevent poaching, and improve the park for tourists. Kaziranga is a big park with forests, grasslands, and wetlands. It is inhabited by numerous animals such as the royal Bengal tiger, Asiatic elephant, and more than 2,600 one-horned rhinos.

The towers will be constructed using environmentally friendly materials and equipped with latest equipment to monitor the park. Visitors also get to utilize them to view animals and plants from elevated positions.

Star Cement leader Pradeep Purohit said that this project depicts the Rongali Bihu spirit and that the company believes in Assam. Sonali Ghosh, director of the park, stated that this will benefit the park immensely and is a special present for nature and humans.
