Shree Cement has gone live with its 3 MTPA grinding unit in Etah, Uttar Pradesh. This is one of the largest in the region and a big boost to the state’s infrastructure. The project has been fully funded through internal resources and is expected to create over 500 direct and indirect jobs.
Located near railway infrastructure, the Etah unit will save cost on transportation of raw materials from Rajasthan. The plant will dispatch cement through both road and rail with a new road connecting directly to the highway for better transportation.
The unit also focuses on sustainability with zero waste operations and advanced environmental management systems. It uses air-cooled screw compressors to minimize water usage and high efficiency filters to reduce environmental impact. The plant will also utilize around 5,000 tonnes per day of fly ash from nearby Jawaharpur Thermal Power Plant to increase resource efficiency.
Shree Cement plans to further increase its green energy initiatives by installing solar power system at the plant in next 2-3 years. The plant is equipped with German technology, pollution control systems like Mill Bag House with Epoxy cages which reduces dust emissions. It also has fully covered storage for raw materials to ensure safety and quality.
This new unit is a testament to Shree Cement’s commitment to growth while contributing to industrial development of Uttar Pradesh.
