NAREDCO Mahi, the women’s arm of the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), organized a special activity in Bhubaneswar under the aegis of the INWEC National Women Business Mela 2.0. It was co-organized in collaboration with the ICC National Women’s Entrepreneurship Council (INWEC), the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the MSME Development Office in Cuttack.
The event centered on the increasing contribution of women in real estate and business in India.
Key Guests and Key Messages
Surama Padhy, Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, was the Chief Guest. Nitisha Mann, IAS, Deputy Director, MSME Odisha, and Sofia Firdous, MLA of Barabati-Cuttack, were Guests of Honour.
Smita Dhanraj Patil, NAREDCO Mahi President and MD of SSPL Group, was the keynote speaker. She stated that NAREDCO Mahi would like to see women lead the real estate sector and come together to create a better and more inclusive tomorrow.
Chief Guest Surama Padhy opined that women need to take larger roles in the field of real estate as they can inject honesty, care, and responsibility into the sector. She urged greater participation of women leaders in making smart and sustainable cities.
MLA Sofia Firdous called upon women to break the gender norms and take charge in male-dominated sectors such as real estate. Women are more than capable of doing business and heading large projects, she said, and requested greater support from the government and business world for women entrepreneurs.
Unity and Women Power
Ratnamala Swain, NAREDCO Mahi Vice President (East) and MD of DN Homes, asserted that wonderful things happen when women empower one another. She emphasized the strength of collaboration and togetherness among women in real estate.
The event also featured motivational speeches from other leaders such as Dr. Ananta S Raghuvanshi, NAREDCO Mahi Chairperson, and members Priya Shah (VP, North) and Orpita Das (AVP, East).
The Bhubaneswar meet showed NAREDCO Mahi’s strong commitment to supporting women and making the real estate industry more inclusive and progressive.
