JK Tyre Marks India’s Automotive Growth with 20th ICOTY

The Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) and Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) awards, presented by JK Tyre since inception, took place at the lovely Levitas Lounge in New Delhi. The most coveted awards in the Indian automobile industry, these awards celebrate 20 years of innovation and excellence. The event was attended by industry leaders, journalists and members of the automotive community. This was a special year as it was the 20th ICOTY.

Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director, JK Tyre & Industries along with ICOTY Chairman Dhruv Behl, IMOTY Chairman Kartik Ware and jury members presented the awards to the winners. The 20th Indian Car of the Year 2025 was awarded to Mahindra Thar Roxx. The vehicle’s features, design and segment leading technology won over the jury. The Aprilia RS 457 was the unanimous 18th Indian Motorcycle of the Year 2025 as its performance and all round capability was the deciding factor.

To cater to the increasing acceptance and availability of premium cars from various manufacturers in the Indian market, the ICOTY jury introduced the ‘Premium Car Award’ in 2019. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class was the winner of the award in 2025. Considering the changing automotive landscape and Government’s focus on electric vehicles, the ‘Green Car Award’ was introduced in 2021 to recognize the manufacturers’ efforts towards mobility of future. The MG Windsor won the Green Car Award in 2025.
