  • JK Lakshmi Cement Starts Using Electric Vehicles for Transport

JK Lakshmi Cement, one of India’s leading cement firms, has begun using electric vehicles (EVs) to transport their products. This is as part of its strategy to make its operations more environmentally friendly. The EVs will cover between the firm’s JK Puram Plant in Sirohi, Rajasthan, and the Kalol Grinding Unit in Gujarat.

The company is doing so in collaboration with SwitchLabs Automobiles. They previously tried the EVs and discovered they cut down pollution without compromising performance. Following the successful test, the company now opted to employ more EVs in its supply chain.

Arun Shukla, JK Lakshmi Cement President and Director, stated the company is environmentally conscious and wishes to set the pace in employing clean and intelligent means of transportation.

This action reinforces India’s drive to adopt greener transport. It indicates that businesses do not have to be either green or efficient but can be both simultaneously. JK Lakshmi Cement strives to reduce its carbon footprint and create a cleaner tomorrow.

It is a part of the 135-year-old JK Organisation and began its cement operations in 1982. Presently, it is present in Northern, Western, and Eastern India with a cement production capacity of 16.5 million tonnes a year. They aim to expand this to 30 million tonnes by 2030. They also produce other items such as ready-mix concrete, wall putty, gypsum plaster, and special eco-friendly blocks.
