Jindal Steel has started its first continuous galvanising line (CGL 1) at its Angul plant in Odisha. This is a big step forward in the company’s large modernisation plan worth several billion rupees.
The new line will produce galvanised and galvalume sheets under the Jindal Panther Galvanised and ZINKALUME brands. These coated steel products will be used in appliances, cars, buildings, and infrastructure.
By adding galvanising at the Angul plant itself, Jindal Steel can now offer faster delivery, more reliable supply, and better service to industries in eastern and central India. This move also helps the company grow in the high-value coated steel market and meet the growing demand from housing, home appliances, and the auto sector.
The company says this shows its commitment to moving up the value chain and becoming a stronger player in coated steel products.
