  • India’s New Steps to Cut Pollution and Improve Factories

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) has started five new projects to reduce pollution from the cement industry using Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) technology. This tech captures harmful CO2 from factories and turns it into useful products. The goal is to help India become carbon neutral by 2070.

These projects involve scientists, companies, and the government working together. They will test different ways to reduce emissions while keeping factories running smoothly.

At the same time, SAIL and ABB India have teamed up to make the Rourkela Steel Plant in Odisha smarter using digital technology. They will create digital twins of furnaces to improve steel production, cut pollution, and save costs. This will help meet growing demand and support a cleaner future for the steel industry.
