  • GAP Group Starts New Township Project in Dholera SIR

The GAP Group, a western Indian company that undertakes large-scale infrastructure projects, has come forward with a new real estate project in the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR). The project will feature high-rise residential apartments, offices, shopping complexes, and a food court. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel recently visited the premises to monitor its progress, ahead of next month’s visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This new township, Akhilam, is being constructed on a 42,000 square metre area. It was the first property plot to be auctioned off in Dholera SIR. The township is being developed to cater to working professionals and companies in the developing area.

Why This Project Is Important
Dholera is rapidly developing, particularly because the biggest semiconductor plant in India is being established there. It’s a venture by Tata Group in collaboration with Taiwanese firm, PSMC. It’ll take two years and will provide employment to some 20,000 skilled persons. By the year 2030, more than 1.5 lakh (150,000) citizens may be employed here, and so good dwellings and amenities are required.

The township Akhilam will provide:

1,000 high-quality 1 BHK (1 bedroom-hall-kitchen) apartments

Business offices

Shops and stores

Banks

Clubhouse and food court

GAP Group’s Managing Director, Ambrish Parajiya, indicated that Dholera is turning out to be one of India’s leading industrial areas. He was glad to take the Chief Minister around the project and mentioned that his township will assist in giving a good home and office as the area picks up.

Improved Roads and Transportation
Dholera is receiving significant transport improvements:

A new expressway from Ahmedabad to Dholera costing Rs 5,000 crore

A new international airport

A freight train corridor at Bhimnath

All these upgradations will attract more companies and employment to the area.
