Dalmia Bharat Ltd, one of India’s top cement companies, will invest around Rs 35.20 billion in Maharashtra and Karnataka. The company will set up a 3.6 million tonnes per year (MnTPA) clinker unit and 3 MnTPA grinding unit at its Belgaum plant in Karnataka. Besides this, a new 3 MnTPA grinding unit will be commissioned in Pune, Maharashtra. The investment will be a mix of loans and internal accruals.
Post this expansion, Dalmia Bharat’s total cement capacity will be 55.5 MnTPA including the ongoing expansions in Assam and Bihar. The new units will be operational by end of FY27. Belgaum unit will serve Southern Maharashtra and increase the company’s share in the region. Pune unit will cater to the growing markets of Western Maharashtra.
This is part of Dalmia Bharat’s plan to become a pan India player with a capacity of 75 MnTPA by FY28 and 110-130 MnTPA by 2031.
