BMW Industries Ltd will be setting up a new steel processing plant in Bokaro, Jharkhand, which is 2nd largest steel producing state of India. The new plant will manufacture three main products:
- 300,000 tonnes per annum of Cold Rolled Full Hard Coils/Sheets
- 540,000 tonnes per annum of Galvanized Coils/Sheets
- 200,000 tonnes per annum of Color Coated Coils/Sheets
The project will cost ₹8.03 billion ($97 million) and will be financed through a combination of company funds and loans. The plant will be 300 km away from Haldia/Kolkata port, so it will be easy to export and import raw materials. BMW Industries has got all the environmental approvals and will commission the plant in phases. First phase will start production by FY26.
