  • ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel to Build Largest Plant in India

AMNS is building its biggest plant in India at Nakkapalli, Anakapalli district with an investment of Rs 1.47 trillion. The project will be executed in two phases: Rs 617.80 billion for phase 1 and Rs 853.82 billion for phase 2. Once completed, the plant will produce 17.80 million tonnes of steel per year. Phase 1 will produce 7.30 million tonnes and phase 2 will add 10.50 million tonnes.

The decision to locate the plant in Andhra Pradesh was after the state government worked hard to attract investments. The new plant will create around 100,000 jobs and will boost local economy. AMNS had initially planned to set up the plant in Odisha but after discussions with Andhra Pradesh officials at World Economic Forum in 2018, the company decided to shift the project to Nakkapalli.

This is a big alright for the state industry and will boost the economy. Once it’s completed, the AMNS plant will be the biggest steel plant in India, shows the company’s confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s business environment.
