ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has introduced two new high-performance colour-coated steel products — Optigal® Prime and Optigal® Pinnacle — to support India’s infrastructure and construction push under the ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision.
These innovative products, part of ArcelorMittal’s patented Optigal® range, are designed to perform in diverse climatic and industrial conditions across India. They offer long-term protection, with Optigal® Prime carrying a 15-year warranty and Optigal® Pinnacle offering a 25-year warranty. Both provide strong corrosion resistance, making them ideal for roofing, cladding, and major infrastructure projects such as airports, ports, and highways.
AM/NS India is currently the only local producer of C4-grade premium colour-coated steel, a segment that was previously unavailable in the Indian market. The Optigal® range features six specialised variants, including Anti-Dust, Cool Roof, and Anti-Microbial coatings. These products use advanced Zinc-Aluminium-Magnesium technology and are 100% recyclable and free of harmful heavy metals, supporting green building standards and the Make in India initiative.
Manufactured at the company’s Pune plant, the new offerings are part of AM/NS India’s plan to capture 25% of the fast-growing 3.4 million-tonne colour-coated steel market within the next three years. The plant currently has an annual production capacity of 7 lakh tonnes, with expansion efforts already in progress.
