John Cockerill Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay). This partnership will focus on developing new technologies for reducing carbon emissions in steel, advancing the green hydrogen value chain and defence products. Combining IIT Bombay’s academic expertise with John Cockerill’s engineering knowhow, the partnership will deliver sustainable solutions for the steel industry. The project will work on reducing carbon in steel, green hydrogen use and defence innovations. Both organisations will also set up Centres of Excellence in the future on steel technology, defence products and green hydrogen covering production, storage, transportation and use. This partnership supports India’s clean energy and carbon reduction in industries.
